Philosophy
The philosophy of CHDCC is that each child is a unique individual who has the
right to a happy childhood. The Center is viewed as an extension of home and
the uniqueness of each child’s cultural heritage is recognized and respected.
The program strives to develop the whole child while creating curiosity and
promoting mastery of his/her environment. The curriculum is determined by the
needs of the individual children and is based upon their previous experiences.
It includes not only the development of cognitive abilities, but also social,
physical, and emotional ones. Most importantly, CHDCC strives to be a fun,
safe, happy place for children to spend their early years.
Goals
Provide a quality day care experience, including the opportunity for each child
to participate in a well-balanced, flexible program involving both structured
and unstructured activities at the individual and small group levels. The Chapel
Hill Day Care Center staff encourages and focuses on the development of each
child as a unique person and strives to meet each child’s needs socially,
emotionally, intellectually, and physically. Children are given daily opportunities
to interact with other children as well as with the staff members — all
done within a warm, caring atmosphere. The children are guided through their
daily experiences by qualified, experienced, and dedicated staff. |
