Welcome to Chapel Hill Day Care Center
I am having technical difficulty and cannot post the menus. One of the parents will help resolve as soon as there is an opportunity.
Don't forget the Picnic on Thursday, October 13th at Southern Community Park! We will start gathering at the park at 5:30 and start eating around 6:15. Hope to see you there!
We are scheduling a playground workday September 24th from 9:00-12:00. This will be part of phase 2 of our Preventing Obesity By Design project. If you are not sure what the POD project is please ask. There is also information on the big bulletin board by the kitchen.
Fall Pictures will be taken on Tuesday& Wednesday September 27th & 28th.
I will be setting up a classroom list serve by early September. If your e-mail has changed or if you were here last year but were not receiving e-mails from me, please send me correct information to chdcc@bellsouth.net.
On October 1st from 3:00-6:00 there will be a small celebration in honor of the building addition, our participation as an Early Head Start program, and the progress on the new playground. The event is for current families, past board members, and individuals who have made donations to the center over recent years. These donors have enabled us to create the Priscilla Guild endowment fund through the Triangle Community Foundation. Once we grow our endowment a little bit more we will be able to utilize it for a couple of scholarships, particularly for families who make enough income that they do not qualify for subsidy through the Department of Social Services, but who still cannot afford tuition at CHDCC. Priscilla will say a few words at the celebration, and there will also be some children's activities and refreshments.

CHDCC and Preventing Obesity by Design Project
CHDCC is one of 5 centers in North Carolina that has been selected to participate in the Preventing Obesity by Design (POD) Project. Through this project and the Natural Learning Initiative at NC State an outdoor environment has been designed for us that will incorporate many natural elements, including a wide variety of tree, herbs and other plants and gardening opportunities, as well as a playground that offers a variety of areas designed to get kids moving. To make this design a reality will take many donation of materials, manual labor, and community participation. Give us a call to find out how you can help. (919) 929-3585
