Programs
Children are initially assigned to a group based on
age and development.
The philosophy of CHDCC is that children thrive and develop strong relationships when they are with a stable group of children and teachers. for this reason groups of children stay together for the whole school year, rather than moving children based on birthdates. At the end of each school year children will move to a new classroom. Younger groups (infants, toddlers and two's) tend to move a as a group and at least one of their teachers moves with them whenever possible. When children transition to a preschool room they will have new teachers. Preschool teachers typically stay in their own classroom and do not transition with the children to the next classroom. There are three preschool classrooms. A three year old room that has 14 children and two teacher; a combination of 16 three and four year old children with two teachers; and a "pre-K" classroom for the oldest 10 children in the center with one teacher. Tuition
matches the ratio of school personnel to the children
in the group.
In the infant program we follow a system of responsive
care giving. Each child has different needs and patterns.
We adapt our care to the child’s schedule and
needs.
